Notre Dame Football to Face Purdue in Shamrock Series Contest
Fighting Irish to Battle Boilermakers in Indianapolis on Sept. 16
Notre Dame Fighting Irish football will face the Purdue Boilermakers in the Shamrock Series on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2014, when Notre Dame won 30-14, a victory that gave the Fighting Irish a 4-3 lead in the all-time series. Notre Dame is coming off a 9-4 season in which they finished ranked No. 20 in the final College Football Playoff rankings, while Purdue finished 8-5 and reached the Music City Bowl. The Shamrock Series is a series of annual Notre Dame football games played at neutral sites around the country. The series was started in 2009 and has been played in cities such as Chicago, New York City, and San Antonio. The game against Purdue will be the third Shamrock Series game played in Indianapolis. The Fighting Irish previously played Michigan in 2016 and Ball State in 2021 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Notre Dame is 4-1 in the Shamrock Series, with their only loss coming to Wisconsin in 2016. Tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 3, 2023.
